Australian superyacht builder Echo Yachts has signed a contract to construct a full-custom 57-meter twin-masted catamaran sailing superyacht, slated to become the world’s largest true sail-powered catamaran. Dykstra Naval Architects, of Amsterdam in the Netherlands, is providing the yacht’s exterior styling, layout and naval architecture. Thys Nikkels, Dykstra Naval Architects CEO, says,“We look forward to working with the owner’s team, Echo Yachts and One2Three on taking the current design concept to the next stage of realization.”
The 53m Five Oceans (YS5302) is the lastest in Damen Yachting's Yacht Support 53 range. It has naval architecture, interior and exterior design from Damen Yachting and is designed to carry eight guests and 10 crew. This is the second hull in the series, with the first, Bad Company Support, launched in 2022.
Turkish shipyard Alia Yachts has launched Project SAN, a 45-metre custom superyacht built entirely in aluminium. Design comes courtesy of Dutch studio Sinot with naval architecture from Lateral Naval Architects.
