The largest support vessel built by Damen Yachting to date has been seen in daylight for the first time after launching at the shipyard in Vlissingen, the Netherlands.
Also known as YS 7512, the project was signed in 2019 as a custom build and emerged from the sheds on Saturday (October 8) sporting a grey hull and orange boot stripe. The model has been designed in-house and, at 75 metres in length, is the largest support vessel built by the shipyard to date.
Key numbers include a 12.6 metre beam and an impressive volume of 1,900GT, which includes the capacity to store emergency relief support equipment.
Elsewhere, the vessel will feature a helipad and hangar for a D14 value helicopter and will be equipped with an array of marine gear, as well as additional tenders and toys.
Accommodation on board will be for a total of 45 people, including crew, guests and “specialist staff”. Wright Maritime Group has supervised the build on behalf of the owner.
The customised in-house design is based on Damen's newly developed YS 7512 model
Speaking at the beginning of its construction, Damen Yachting sales director Rob Luijendijk said: “At the time of delivery, she will be the 17th Yacht Support delivered. She will also be the largest to date, which I think continues to show the scalability of the support solution for large superyachts.”
