Turkish yacht builder Norse Shipyard has announced the relaunch of the 67-metre Azumi, which has hit the water following an extensive, multi-year conversion into a superyacht. Works began in October 2022 at the yard's facilities in Kocaeli.
Azumi was launched by Sanuki Shipbuilding & Iron Works in 1998 and spent decades as a Japanese fishing and research vessel, then cruising under the name Kanazawa.
According to BOATPro, the ship was sold in 2022 with the intention of rebuilding her into a luxury superyacht. Both exterior design and naval architecture has been completed by Canadian design studio Gregory C. Marshall.
Full details are undisclosed, though confirmed works include a hull extension from 65.4 to 67 metres, a redesign of the aft deck to include a large pool and swimming platform and full exterior teak decking.
Other specs include a volume of 945GT and an extended, 10.8-metre beam.
